Sleeping Through the night

Trent has been a great boy the last couple of days not only is he sleeping through the night he is doing it like a champ. Doesn't he look handsome in his bed as he gets ready for the night.

Here is a cute one as he sits and waits patiently for mom to get off the computer.

A cute great Gandma. . .

Greg's mother's mother is the sweetest grandmother. When I first met Greg I was introduced to his grandparents quite quickly and I considered them like my own. I was even allowed to go with them to Cali twice since Greg and I have been married. The first time was June 2005 I was invited to go with them to Disneyland. Grandma and Grandpa were amazing people who had served several missions then they took on a great mission of raising there three beautiful grandchildren. So they were taking the kids there and needed help so in order to even it out I was invited along with my sister-in-laws. Then again a year later we went as a family to the beach and San Diego. I spent lots of meals and lots of time at their house as well. After my sister-in-law moved in with grandma and grandpa Willden, we spent many nights playing cards, watching movies and doing crafts in their basement. Last February we lost Grandpa and in some ways our sweet grandmother was lost without her sweetheart. This last May Greg and I moved into Grandma's house. We spent so much time there and Amber needed a bit of help with Grandma. It would also help us since we would be having Trent. Over the last couple of months as we dealt with Trent coming so early and not being able to bring him home. Grandma waited patiently for him to come so she could hold him all day (except when he was mad then he had to go back to mommy). She only held him a handful of times since she was a bit weak. But she did spend quite a bit of time patting his bum and making sure he was okay.
Grandma was a great person. She was beautiful and loving. She loved her family and would do anything she could for them. I am so happy to know that I got to know her and even though I was only in the family for four years she was just like a grandmother to me. She now has gone on to be with that sweetheart of hers.

We Love you, Grandmother Connie!

Baby Formula

I have had a great morning. Trent has been a bit moody. (He has a bit of cold coming on) But we have got some nap time in and cuddle time. I was thinking as he sat in his little chair squirming a bit that it is amazing how much Formula costs. Now if you are able to nurse then more power to you but if you can't then you will have a new cost in your budget that may control your life. Trent received breast milk until he came home from the hospital. I was not getting enough to satisfy him. Since he was premature the doctor has kept us on a special formula. One that only comes in the smaller can and only lasts 2 1/2 days. Of course I am paying for the formula because my son means the world to me. But I can't help to think that we are being ripped off by these companies in order to feed our precious babies. Many people qualify for WIC which helps a ton. In my case we don't make a ton of money and both Greg and I work to cover our expenses. (Greg actually works two jobs) But we make to much to qualify for WIC. Now many of the formula companies send out coupons to help but they don't last long. Greg and I were so excited when they came in the mail. We received 3 $5 coupons. I do have many coupons for other brands and hopefully I will get to use them later. I'm sure it doesn't cost $15 dollars to make that small can. I wish they would just make the cost of the formula less and not spend so much on marketing which includes sending out coupons and wasting paper. If anyone out there knows any secrets to buying formula that I have missed let me know. But for now I will continue to pay for formula so my little one will grow.

Trenton's Blessing Day

Greg and I had the pleasure of blessing our handsome little boy yesterday, September 7, 2008. Greg did a wonderful job and it was fun to have so much friends and family around us. My mom and dad came down from Idaho. Even though they had a very rough week. My Uncle Danny passed away (I am sorry I missed uncle dannys funeral but my thoughts and prayers are with aunt Kay and all her children) and they had his funeral to help and attend and with all that my mom and dad both have had back pain and trouble this week. (Jeff's family didn't make it due to the fact that poor little deegan would of struggled since it is a long trip and his cast is huge {for those who don't know he broke his thigh bone and has a cast that covers the broken leg, around his hips and half way down the other leg.} Justin family chose not to come we sadly missed all of them). Lindsey and Robert came from Cedar City and then lots of others in the valley attended as well.

I spent much of the day before preparing for the blessing. I actually worked until 3 but after that we (the girls) attacked the kitchen. We made brownies, chocochip cookies, pumpkin cookies, lemon bars, pound cake and dips. It was great fun. After the blessing we had fruit, veggies and ham or turkey sandwiches. My parents couldn't stay long since they had to drive home that night but I love having them here for as much time as they can give us. After they left We had a much needed nap and played card games with James, Lindsey and Amber.

Here are a few pictures from the blessing day. The one with Grandma Gailey was from her first time holding Trent.
